Data Center Facilities Administrator

L&P Media www.lpmedia.net  looking for Data Center Facilities Administrator and Corporate Network Engineer to provide services and operations support for data center infrastructure systems, hosting facility, corporate and client IT support. The candidate should have mid level experience with common physical plant systems found in a very medium datacenter environment. The engineer should be willing to perform physical tasks related to the build out and day-to-day changes required to operate and expand a growing data center.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Strong experience in both Windows (IIS) and Linux Web server administration, management and setup
  • Communicate with clients regarding email, security, server, SW or domain issues and requests. Including documentation of issues to more senior personnel for review, recommendations and/or resolution as appropriate
  • Monitor all customer service requests and work orders for timely completion
  • Respond to and resolve routine change requests from external and internal customers in a timely, efficient manner
  • Colo Management
  • Implement improved methods for getting routine work done
  • Ability to work alone or in a team when developing customer solutions
  • Make day-to-day decisions that involve direct application of technical knowledge to solve basic problems in concert with programming staff as needed
  • Manage spam and email filtering systems and maintain day-to-day operations
  • Manage Firewall and security protocols
  • Manage exchange and other POP3 and MTA type e-mail gateway systems
  • DNS management
  • SQL and MYSQL data base admin, configuration, and optimization and set up
  • Disaster recovery and back up operation and management
  • Experience with Cisco, and 3Comm switches
  • Experience with UPS systems and maintenance
  • Implement and oversee strategic data center infrastructure systems, to include power, cooling, fire suppression, space allocation, connectivity and security
  • Troubleshoot and repair failures in data center equipment or systems as well as manage vendors to do the same
  • Work with internal programming staff on SW issues and QA
  • Work with Programming staff and PM’s on application deployment and testing
  • Ability to analyze business processes and make improvement recommendations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Good knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML, Ajax, C+ and ASP are all preferred
  • Candidate must be driven, self-motivated, and a strong team playerMust be able to learn quickly and adapt to new solutions / programs / ideas!

Experience/ Education

• 3+ years experience in data center facilities operations, working supporting a critical production data center environment.

Web and Graphic Designer Developer/Designer

L&P Media is looking for an experienced Web and Graphic Designer Developer/Designer Please visit our Web Site at www.lpmedia.net for more information. The role of the Web and Graphic Designer/Developer is very hands-on; you will be intimately involved in all design and production aspects related to the site or video and work closely with the project manager, client and programming staff.

Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years of solid proven professional graphic design, development in the web and print medium.
  • Demonstrated creative capabilities in various mediums on client based projects.
  • Completed at least 2 years of formal education in design or related field.
  • Flash and Motion graphic experience is a must
  • Video editing experience is a big plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and proven history of working independently and in a team.
  • Possess a strong understanding of UI and information architecture
  • Must demonstrate professional quality and creativity to business clients
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of, Quark, HTML, Adobe tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, and Motion.
  • Proven ability to work with Open Source CMS such as Joomla or WordPress
  • Proven knowledge and experience with Cascading Style sheets (CSS), Java Script, accessibility standards, understand web usability as well as possess a willingness to learn new and innovative design technologies.
  • Possess an understanding of web servers, FTP
  • Strong ability for web site maintenance web site maintenance
  • Must have prior experience in developing web sites, flash and motion graphics, interactive CD/DVD’s, and professional Videos and possess an ability to work in a team environment
  • Must possess a desire to learn every day.
